Rolex has launched a new Oyster Perpetual, a direct descendant of the Oyster, the world's first waterproof wristwatch that made the Rolex name famous. With a case size of 41 mm, it is the largest in the collection. Although it has a greater presence, it still retains the modesty of a silver actor that complements the main character of the watch. The watch, with its bright black sunray-finished dial, 18ct white gold hands, and hour markers, is the ultimate in minimalism.
The hands and hour markers are chromalight displays coated with a luminous material that glows blue in the dark, and the movement is the state-of-the-art caliber 3230, introduced this year. These two updates are also worth mentioning.
To emphasize its high water resistance, Rolex gave the name Oyster to the wristwatch it completed in 1926. Rolex compared the name to the oyster shell, a bivalve shell that boasts of its high sealing ability.
