In the 1890s, two lighthouse keepers arrive on an isolated New England island. They are assigned the task of maintaining the lighthouse and the island for the next four weeks. However, Thomas Wake (Willem Defoe), a seasoned veteran, and Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson), an inexperienced young man, do not get along and clash with each other from day one. In the midst of the acrimonious atmosphere, a storm hits and the two are trapped on the island.

The two stars of the film are Robert Pattinson and Willem Defoe. Robert Pattinson, who became popular for his role in last year's blockbuster movie "Tenet", and Willem Defoe, a world-renowned actor.

Based on an actual incident that took place in Wales, England in 1801, this film features only two characters for almost the entire film. In the extremely tense setting of an isolated island in the middle of the ocean, you can't take your eyes off of them for even a moment as they engage in a spectacular conversation.
