Tufting, a technique for making rug mats, has been gaining attention for several years.
Japan's first tufting studio and workshop "tufting studio KEKE" will open on Tuesday, October 26, 2012, where visitors can experience making their own one-of-a-kind rug mats.
Workshop.reservationwill be open for registration on Friday, October 22 at 8:00 p.m. .
The partner is MIYOSHI RUG, a brand that produces rugs for numerous apparel brands, including BLACK EYE PATCH and 1LDK's private brand.
Tufting is a technique for making rug mats by sewing several threads into a bundled tuft on a special cloth called heshan .
At KEKE, even beginners can easily create their own original rug mats with the support of staff who have mastered such tufting techniques at the factory in Tokushima, Japan.
In addition to the workshops, the company plans to sell equipment and materials necessary for rug making, such as tufting guns, yarn, hessian, and glue, through its official online store.
And, in a film released today, "HOUYHNHNM's YouTubeIn "The Rug Challenge," fashion director Ryo Takashima was invited as a guest and challenged to create a one-of-a-kind rug.

Workshop Outline
■First Workshop
Fee: ¥25,000 (basic fee + materials + shipping)
Time required: about 5 to 6 hours
■Studio rental *2nd and subsequent use of atelier
Fee: ¥1,500yen/hour + material cost (yarn cost : length x width cm x ¥1.5 + other material cost : ¥800)
■About the Design
You must prepare your own design and send it to us at least one week before the workshop.Email AddressPlease send your illustrations in jpg, png, ai, psd formats. Illustrations should have clear borders , and should be sent in jpg/png/ai/psd format. MIYOSHI RUG's original designs are also available.
