Dr. Martens SHOWROOM TYO's second art exhibition. Featuring MHAK, an up-and-coming painter of the street generation.

Dr. Martens SHOWROOM TYO opened last October in Omotesando, Tokyo. This is a concept store focusing on "made in England" and collaborative shoes by "Dr. Martens," and is also a space that conveys the culture of the historic brand.

One of the unique features of this store is the gallery space inside the store. Exhibitions of artists selected from their unique perspectives are held regularly. The first exhibition to commemorate the event featured Kosuke Kawamura, a collage artist well-known to HOUYHNHNM's.

Introduced here is the second installment, which began on January 14. It features Tokyo-based painter MHAK.

MHAK was born in 1981. He pursues art that focuses on abstract expression under the theme of "coexistence with living space. His works are like a new camouflage pattern, and those who have experienced street culture will feel familiar with them.

The exhibition will also feature two pairs of 8-hole boots that MHAK has modified for the occasion.

In addition to these new works, the exhibition also includes his studio work desk, painting materials such as paint, and prototypes of three-dimensional works, allowing visitors to directly experience his worldview.
