Photographer Kentaro Oshio's first collection of work is a private edition of his soul, documenting the blue impulses of his youth.

Introduced here is "PLOUGH YARD 517," the first collection of work published by Kentaro Oshio, a photographer active mainly in advertising, magazines, and the Web.

In 2002, while studying in London, Oshio met an eccentrically dressed middle-aged man at a pub he was familiar with. That is Melvin, the subject of this film. Although he had lost his property and place of residence due to divorce and other troubles, he was despondent, but a chance encounter with Melvin, who lived a life of uninhibited abandon, brought excitement to his life in London. The days spent with Melvin were captured in photographs, which were compiled into this work.

. 20 years ago, Oshio's sensibility, which was probably young and rough around the edges, is burned into every corner of this record of his blue days.

Although we are still in a situation where it is not easy to travel abroad, there is something about the photographs in this book that stirs a fierce yearning to travel.
