It is Yuta Kaji himself who has written this text that leaves nothing exquisite after reading it. As a stylist, Kaji has been engaged in visual work for many years, but few people may know that he actually started expressing himself in this kind of writing more than 10 years ago.

We are pleased to announce our first exhibition of written works, "YUTAKAJI 203040". The basis of this exhibition is a short story that started in a certain medium about 10 years ago.

The story, featuring a certain man named "Takezaki," continued in a dreamy mood, as if it could have happened anywhere, but it did not, and as if it had actually happened, but it is not certain whether it did or not, for a total of 31 installments over 4 years.

As anyone who has been exposed to Yuta Kaji's writing will understand, he depicts the subtleties of trivial, yet very delicate emotions that would not normally be expressed in words.

To express something that is not dramatic, but rather an ordinary, everyday thing, requires a certain sensitivity. Kaji's writings demand this sensitivity from the reader as well.

Shingo Shoji, the owner of FLOAT, where the exhibition was held, was fascinated by Kaji's writings at the time, which led to the realization of this exhibition. This fascination has not faded over time, and has now been brought to fruition in this exhibition.

At the venue, a limited number of zines will be on sale, each containing 20 of the more than 30 episodes of the work, divided into upper and lower volumes. In addition, tacos from Street Food Company, a popular taco stand in Yoyogi, will be available on May 28 (Sat.) and 29 (Sun.) to add color to the event.

In these days of busyness, we hope this exhibit will provide a respite from the busyness of the world.

It has been more than 10 years since I read this Series, but when I read it again after a long time, I found it to be even more condescending and poorly written than I had expected. However, as I was typing the entire manuscript, which was handwritten at the time, into my PC, I realized that I had received courage and energy from the writing, and that made me very happy. It is a short story about the daily life of a clumsy, helpless man, but it is a story that has captured the zeitgeist of my life through continuous writing. And now, 10 years later, I feel a sense of meaning by daring to exhibit it. I hope you will enjoy it with me. Yuta Kaji
