De Toray's idea was immediately presented to his friend Jacques-David Lecoultre. He was the third generation of the "LeCoultre" company, which had its roots in Jaeger-LeCoultre. In 1931, LeCoultre gave form to his idea, and the Paris Patent Office accepted his application for registration. The model was given the name "Reverso," which means "to turn" in Latin.
There are many theories about the details, but the story of the birth of "Reverso" is said to be roughly like this.
