Stillness and movement are stillness. What did photographer Keisuke Nagoshi see during his three weeks of wandering in America?

Keisuke Nagoshi, a photographer who has been photographing something out of place, will hold a new exhibition of photographs taken during a three-week stay with train riders (people who live on freight trains) in the United States in February of this year.

There have been many times in the past when Nagoshi'sI followed the footprints.HOUYHNHNM's, but this new one is very different.

As you can see, the film is not about getting close to the real faces of the freaks, as usual, but rather, as the freight train moves silently forward, they are confronted with themselves, and it is not the people, but the object to which they have turned their lenses.

Valentine's Day, 2022 . . a three-week, destination-less shoot that started in Bakersfield, California . For the first time in my life, I was so taken by the beautiful sights I could see through the cracks of a freight train that I was willing to die. Right next to the wheel, I heard the news that war had started. . amidst the roar of the train, I felt a strange stillness.
Freedom and inconvenience. In the midst of the chaos of the world's plague and war, I learned that all people are in the same situation.
I faced my own mind, asking myself the reality that I could not escape from wherever I was.
The freight train, which did not wait for me to look through the viewfinder of my camera, was like a picture running toward the past.
I have relied too much on the subject. I don't care about myself. For 25 years, I have been hoping to convey the charm of my subjects. I don't think that's a mistake.
The photographs in this exhibition are 180 degrees different. In a sense, they have no subject and no destination. They are works that were created by honestly facing my heart and soul while staring at the wheels of a freight train running at minus 20 degrees Celsius. I hope you will be able to experience these works from a variety of perspectives.
. We believe that each person's viewpoint and sensitivity is his or her own personal freedom.

. Another photo exhibition will be held at the same time as the exhibition of this work, which can be said to be a new frontier.

Kiyohiko Shibukawa is an actor that photographer Keisuke Nagoshi has been photographing for the apparel brand "RADIALL" as visuals. Last year, he published a photo book entitled "ALL.

Between fiction and non-fiction. Keisuke Nagoya, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, and Radial's session took shape.

The exhibition, which will be held one year after the release of the book, will not use the photos as they are, but will instead take new photographs of photos that happened to overlap during the testing stage of color adjustments at the printing plant.

These two exhibits will showcase Nagoshi's sincere approach to photography, as he constantly seeks new ways to express himself.
