Jil Sander has launched a new collection called "Wardrobe. The biggest showcase is the permanent design work that you literally want to have in your wardrobe. New items will be added little by little each season, but the base model will continue to be used. Creative Directors Lucy and Luke Mayer hailed this experiment as "the definition of a modern classic."
The 3B unconstructed jacket made of Japanese wool with small lapels and high button positions, the sweater knitted of superfine merino wool, and the shirt made of 100% polyester that has been washed to obtain a rustic texture. The models in the lineup have been sharpened not only in design, but also in textile and construction.
The markers are the word "Wardrobe" embroidered in tone-on-tone below the name tag, written by Lucy, and the "W" on the sleeves and buttons.
In late August, they were the first in the world to open a pop-up store at "The Stage" on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku's main building. It is a sophisticated move by the duo, who say they have learned a lot from Japanese arts and crafts. The store will be open until September 6 (Tue.).
The pop-up stores at Isetan are not limited to this. A pop-up store for bags and small leather goods is also being held on the same floor during the same period, and the 3rd floor of the main building and the 3rd floor of the men's building are already filled with new autumn/winter items.
