This fall, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS released a collaboration model with NIKE. The model on the chopping block this time is the "Air Max 97.
The Air Max 97 was inspired by the Shinkansen bullet train, and is a familiar pair to the Japanese. The "Air Max 97" was the first full-length visible air shoe in the history of Japan, and was released in 1997 and became as popular as the "Air Max 95".
COMME des GARÇONS Hommes Princes has taken this classic and combined it with a new material called distressed leather. While maintaining the beautiful gradient that flows through the shoe, the "Air Max 97" is clad in leather that looks as if it is literally decaying, giving it a somewhat dystopian atmosphere.
When I heard that the theme for this season is "nomad," I understood. It was clear to me that this season's theme is "nomad," and the shoes are filled with a roughness befitting a nomadic man's footsteps.
The construction of the "Air Max 97" is retained, but covered with specially created distressed leather. Each ¥41,800
The brand name "Comme des Garçons Homme Princes" and the "Nike" logo are on the insole.
