MAW's solo exhibition "DOUBLE" will be held at Complex Boost. How do you read this look?

When you're feeling good, you look happy; when you're tired, you feel somewhat poked fun at; MAW stamps the streets of Tokyo with a mysterious smiley face character named MikeL (Michael).

Working anonymously, MAW has been leaving his mark for more than 15 years with this unique look. The exhibition at the gallery COMPLEXBOOST now offers a small glimpse into this simple yet cool artist.

The theme of MAW's current exhibition, "DOUBLE," is, as the word implies, about two things that are interchangeable, such as substitutes, replacements, and doubles.

In this exhibition, MikeL and another character are displayed in contrast to each other. This is an attempt to have the viewer appreciate the work by drawing an auxiliary line of the character. How does MikeL look when the viewer, the character, and the artwork interact with each other?
