Kotatsu, oden, and craft beer sitting in the middle of the ski slope! Hoshino Resort Risonare Tomamu's famous contents will be held until March 31.

It has suddenly become spring-like in the past few days, but the snow season is still going on.

The Hoshino Resort Resonale Tomamu, which HOUYHNHNM recently reported on site.

Skiing and food. The best winter experience at the Risonale Tomamu.

Please allow me to reintroduce the "Ski in Ski out Kotatsu Lounge," one of the contents in the "Firefly Street" section of the facility. This is a non-standard event, in the best sense of the word.

As the name suggests, it is a kotatsu lounge that you can enter and exit with your skis on. I know it sounds like a bit of a stretch, but that's the only way I can describe it. And when I tried it out, I found that it was actually quite good.

Firefly Street, located halfway up the slopes, is equipped with kotatsu, a table over which you can keep warm while wearing ski boots. This winter, a new 3-meter-long counter kotatsu has also been added.

There are ski racks nearby, so you can ski right after dinner, and this location is easily accessible from both Tomamu The Tower and Risonale Tomamu, where you will be staying, and even if you do not ski, you can warm up at this kotatsu.

You can feel the clear cold air while your feet stay warm. In such an environment, you can enjoy oden and beer.

Oden with kelp broth unique to Hokkaido is characterized by its seafood and wild vegetable ingredients and kelp broth. The "Special Oden Nabe" is a specialty here, with a rich variation of gorgeous seafood such as crab and shrimp, and wild vegetables such as butterbur and bamboo shoots. It is served with salmon roe, crabmeat, wasabi (Japanese horseradish), and yuzu miso.

Since they are generously sized, we recommend eating them in groups of three or four. There are also seven types of oden skewers that can be enjoyed from a single skewer.

shrimp skewer

octopus skewer

cod roe (roe of any fish from family Gadidae, esp. salted walleye pollack roe)

And as for drinks, the lineup includes kelp tea, birch tea, and sugarcane tea that go well with oden and are unique to Hokkaido. In addition, the best recommendation is a total of 10 kinds of craft beers produced in various parts of Hokkaido.

Abashiri Beer/Drift Ice Draft, Abashiri Beer/Cherry Drop, Asahikawa Taisetsu Beer/Furano Barley, Takigawa Craft Beer Workshop/Sorachi Ale, Otaru Beer/Otaru Dunkel, North Island Beer/India Pale Ale, Okhotsk Beer/Okhotsk Weizen, Susukino Beer / Susukino Beer Melzen", "Hokkaido Beer Brewery / Otaru Lager", "Yotei Sanroku Beer / Nisekowise

It is now common knowledge around the world that snow in Japan and Hokkaido is wonderful. And when there is such hospitality content, it makes you want to choose that place.

The "Ski in Ski out Kotatsu Lounge" will run until Friday, March 31 this year. Spring seems to be coming especially early this year, so please come early if you can.
