QUTANI's pop-up exhibition is now being held at Gallery 85.4.

The Kutani Ceramic Industry is facing up to the problems surrounding the industry, and is working to improve the issues by collaborating with partners from different industries.QUTANI." The pop-up by this project will be held at the "KARAKURI" by creative director Takayuki Minami.Gallery 85.4. and will run through Monday, March 13.

The DEAD STOCK series, which has been kept in storage in pottery mills for various reasons and has not seen the light of day for 30 or 40 years, will be presented all at once in this pop-up exhibition. The aim of the exhibition is to reconstruct and reevaluate Kyushu-yaki pottery, proposing unglazed Kutani-yaki as a form of interior decoration that fits in well with contemporary living spaces.

These works, created by skilled craftsmen, are pure and first-time creations. Please take a look at them in the neutral exhibition space that only "Gallery 85.4" can offer.
