As Kakidashi, he is an artist who works mainly in Los Angeles,Jeff McFetridge.(Geoff McFetridge) is holding a solo exhibition, "BELIEF IN SPRING (ASLEEP UNDER ICE)," through Saturday, May 13.
Jeff has many fans around the world for his messages and satire in simple graphics drawn with perspective and delicate lines. Many of you may have seen his designs in the "Virgin Suicide" and "Where the Wild Things Are" movies, as well as on the dials of the Apple Watch.
The exhibition will feature a number of new works, including sculptures on display for the first time in Japan. The theme of the exhibition is "man and nature," and the artists have been pursuing the relationship between the two.
On the occasion of the exhibition, he said, "This new work pursues a theme that I have been interested in for a long time. How can the patterns in my work explain the thoughts that lie between our understandings? These images are going somewhere, traveling, changing, and melting with the spring. When I am painting, I feel that what I am looking for is not an idea, but the opposite. I feel that what I want to draw is beyond me, that I have a clear idea of what I want to draw. The best drawings are the ones that I don't even notice or understand, the ones where complex thoughts are schematized and resolved," Jeff says.
