In the midst of summer in Chigasaki, photographer Yoriki Endo will present a unique exhibition of his photographs of snow and ice. He is a very impressive photographer with a unique style that captures snowboarding from a serene point of view and is distinctly different from sports photography that captures flashy action.
In addition to his snowboarding photos, his photographs of ice with a dull blue glow taken in Iceland are breathtaking in their beauty and serenity. I visited the gallery and was pleasantly surprised by the silence that I could "hear" from the photos, which is the opposite of summer in Japan, when cicadas are pouring in the sky.
Water is the source of life . The pale, soft white of snow and the deep blue of ice that comes from it can enhance inspiration or calm the mind. The characteristics of these colors and the vibrations of nature can be unconsciously attuned to the mind, or they can be intentionally incorporated to raise consciousness. Having grown up in a snow country, I have continued to photograph the ever-changing climate as a tribute to my love for the earth in the form of snow. . I think about the white landscape that envelops the earth. Snow and ice change their expressions from moment to moment according to nature and climate, and eventually become water. The texture of snow, the delicate depth of color, the supple curves, and the harmonious shapes of the landscape, are all part of nature. Inner peace. I am expressed in the calm world of the snow. Why is it that Mr. Endo is fascinated by the purity of water, ice, and snow? Of course, it is just as he says, but when you actually confront the photographs, you can naturally feel the reason for it, and that is what this exhibition is all about. The exhibition will be held until the end of this week.
