TUDOR pays homage to its roots with a new model in its Black Bay lineup, the Black Bay 54. The model is based on the brand's first diver's watch, Ref. 7922, which was created in 1954. This model was adopted by the navies of both France and the United States.
The lollipop design of the second hand, reminiscent of the first model, or the unidirectional rotating bezel with no other scale than the numerals. Both of these specifications are a must for vintage enthusiasts. The crown and bezel employ the latest ergonomics, but their proportions are in keeping with those of the past.
The Black Bay 54 satisfies vintage enthusiasts with its small stainless steel case of 37 mm, which is hard to miss. This size is not often seen in a diver's watch.
Since the launch of the in-house movement in 2015, TUDOR has expanded the size range. Among the many movements available, the 30.3-millimeter-diameter Manufacture caliber MT5400 boasts a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and a depth rating of 200 meters.
It is a nod to the fact that this may be the most sincere model that has faced history.
