Japanese tea brand from Shimane, JapanSOTTO CHAKKA. will make its debut.
Kaki-no-Kimura is located in the western part of Shimane Prefecture , in the town of Yoshika. The tea plantation is located near "Sukehando," a spring at the top of the mountain, a tributary of the Takatsu River, which has been repeatedly chosen as the clearest stream in Japan. Sotchatka" is a super local and handmade tea brand from this unexplored region.
There are two product lines. Kettle-fired tea made from fresh tea harvested by hand from tea trees said to be well over 100 years old, and a blend of wild herb teas. Both of these teas have been brewed by the villagers for their own consumption and have not been available to the public.
Sotto Chakka" is the work of Yuri Nanasaki, a photographer from Shimane Prefecture, together with her family who spend time in Kaki Village. The products, which are rarely shown to the public, are sold as "sharing". It is a brand with a warmth that is truly human, and cannot be defined by such katakana terms as "brand," "culture," or "third wave.
Therein lies the charm of tea, which has been drunk for centuries without the use of any pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides.
