Dig outdoor vintage clothing here at Nerdy Dogs in Gotokuji, Wan Wan!

Gotokuji has become more and more satisfying to visit vintage clothing stores in the past few years. The number of good stores for both men and women has really increased.

Another one to add to your hand is Nerdy Dogs (™︎), a thrift store.

It is one of those places that you want to call "Kohitsu Sanso," or "Kohitsu Sanso in secondhand clothing.

The shop is run by Mr. Akimoto, who worked as a buyer at a major select store, and Ms. Ohashi, who studied as a salesperson.

Joining the same company at the same age, he became immersed in outdoor vintage clothing after visiting vintage clothing stores on his off days.

Because of this, the store is filled mainly with vintage 90's outdoor clothing.

It has been a long time since I have been to a vintage clothing store that specializes in a single genre, so I am happy to see this one.

We avoid pre-priced vintages, and only have good regulars that we have found using our own aesthetic sense and mood as a compass.

Lands' End plays a central role in this collection. Lands' End has so much clothing that it takes up an entire corner of the store, and its fleece-lined nylon jackets in a wide variety of colors occupy an entire rack.

Compared to brands like LL Bean, it's a minor brand, but the more you dig, the more interesting it becomes. However, there are actually a lot of tacky items, so we are very selective (laughs).

Indeed, when shown not in dots but in planes like this, one can only be impressed anew by the high quality of design and superb detailing.

The other items are not only well-designed, but also functional, as they are all outdoor items. There is no such thing as a "rare item that is too battered to be used in the mountains.

So far, we have described it as "outdoor vintage clothing," but the concept they initially aimed for was "resort vintage clothing.

I wanted to mix simple Lands' End clothes with marine-style items and functional wear that could be easily thrown on at resorts. I had this concept in mind, but when I put it on display in the store, it ended up looking like vintage outdoor clothing. I'm not sure how it will turn out in the future, but I'm happy if the customers are happy with it," he says.
