These retro-futuristic shoes are reminiscent of the future and outer space. They are made by "TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance (TDS).
DS 610 Slip-on ¥22,000 each
The base model is the MT610, a trail running model released in 2011. This time, it has been updated into a slip-on model through the filter of "TDS" to create a more fashionable look.
The organic and spacy upper is inspired by the archived "422" model. There, the sole unit of "MT610" consisting of "ABZORB" boasting high cushioning and "N DURANCE" rubber material resistant to abrasion is mounted, firmly following the outdoor-derived functions and technology.
The functionality is more serious than its modern appearance would suggest. It is sure to support your feet not only for town use but also for activities such as light hiking.
The product will be available at select New Balance stores and the official online store from November 17 (Fri.).
