Blank spaces that lack information like skipped whites, liquid sloshing between body parts, and egoistic expressions and poses reminiscent of selfies and artist photos. Artist Yukino Yamanaka incorporates these elements into her human motifs to reveal us as incomplete beings who are breaking away from the conventional image of human beings.
Her solo exhibition will be held at "Diesel Art Gallery" from Saturday, December 2 to Tuesday, January 16, 2024. It was curated by the gallery "CON" in Bakurocho, Nihonbashi.
The exhibition titled "POSE" features 12 new paintings and his first three-dimensional works. In the present age of post, which is riddled with ramblings and mass-produced images, the artist depicts the human figure as an "unstable pose" driven by an algorithm, without being able to discern what is real.
