The collection fully utilizes the skills of a sewing factory that has been in operation for more than half a century. In the first season, the lineup includes items luxuriously made of cashmere and items hand-dyed with Awa indigo from Tokushima. Let's start with the indigo-dyed collection.
The indigo of Awa, Tokushima Prefecture, is called "Hon-Ai" (the original indigo), and the indigo of other regions is called "Ji-Ai" (local indigo), which is so different in quality that they are distinguished from each other. The indigo in this collection is dyed by an aishi, who is designated as an intangible cultural asset by Tokushima Prefecture.
Because the fabric is dyed without using chemical dyes, the colors will fade and burn as the wearer wears the garment, but it is in this process that the original texture of the natural dyes can be appreciated.
