Known as the standard-bearer of the Nouvelle Vague, filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard sadly passed away in September 2022. His last film, "Jean-Luc Godard: The Last Testament: A Strange War," will be released in theaters.
This film was a project that Godard had been working on with SAINT LAURENT since before his death, and was produced by SAINT LAURENT Productions by Anthony Vaccarello. Creative director Anthony Vaccarello called this work "a trailer for a movie that will never exist.
Godard lived his life consistently pursuing his love of cinema and what cinema is in a meta sense through his various innovations, but what was his final thought and what did he try to leave behind? Without saying too much, I think it would be better to let the audience feel everything through his films. Please see how the revolutionary and master of French cinema dealt with his films.
