On Friday, February 23, 2024, "ADIDAS TOKYO CITY RUN 2024," a running event sponsored by adidas, was held on a special course at Meiji Jingu Gaien, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
With the catchphrase, "In the middle of Tokyo, fun is the name of the game," this event was held for the second time, following last year's event. A wide range of participants, from serious runners challenging their own records to casual fun runners, took part in the officially sanctioned and un-sanctioned 5-kilometer races.

Our "HOUYHNHNM Running Club♡" will also participate in this event. A total of 21 members will take on the "Super Nova 5K Race" for fun runners.

The gun sounded and the race was ready to begin!
The course starts and finishes at the front of the Picture Gallery, and consists of five laps around a course of 1 km per lap. Members of the "HOUYHNHNM's Running Club♡" who run regularly will be able to run this distance without difficulty, but if they run too fast, their legs may not be able to keep up until the end. It is an exquisite distance that requires strategic pacing.
The weather was light rain. The maximum temperature was around 5 degrees Celsius. It is quite a bad condition. Some runners wore gloves, neck warmers, and other cold weather gear.
He ran two, three, and four laps, finishing with five laps completed!
All members completed the race safely. Each member completed the 5 km at his or her own pace. The weather was unfortunately cold and rainy from start to finish, but it didn't matter if it was raining or cold, once we started running, it didn't matter. As is the purpose of this event, running is all about having fun, isn't it?
What I felt through this event.

First run event, first rain run. It was the most fun I've ever had!
This was my first time participating in a running event like this. It was also my first experience running in the rain, and I assumed that the event would be cancelled in case of rain (laughs). (Laughs.) The conditions were not ideal for running, but as it turned out, it was a lot of fun! There were tricks in various places to make the race more exciting, and it didn't take long from the start to the finish line. The cheering along the way was also very encouraging. Before the race, I was worried that I might catch a cold, but my fears were unfounded. Once I started running, I didn't mind the rain or the cold at all. I also liked the Adidas shoes. I usually run around 5 minutes per kilometer, but today I was able to run a little faster, in the low 4-minute range, which felt good. It may be because of the excitement of the event and the new shoes.
I am now more motivated to run.
'It was a fun event. The atmosphere was warm and the course was good. The area around the Picture Gallery in Jingu Gaien is famous as a jogging course, and it was a valuable experience for me to run on public roads where I cannot normally run. I was surprised at how comfortable the Adidas shoes felt the moment I put them on. They fit well, and my feet and shoes felt as if they were one. When I actually ran, the cushioning was not too soft, but had just the right amount of rebound to make it a pleasant experience. Events like today motivate me to run. I've actually been so busy with work lately that I've kind of skipped running, but I've decided once again that running is good, and I'm going to run properly again! (Madoka Takahashi)
A fun and festive event. Shoes are in good shape.
It was cold. It was just cold. That's the best impression I can give (laughs). But the event itself was fun and festive. The course in Jingu Gaien was also pleasant. The distance was only 5 kilometers, but it was only 5 kilometers. I thought it was surprisingly long when I started running, but once I finished, it was over in a flash. Super Nova" was going well. I ran at a pace of a little over 5 minutes per kilometer, but even when I increased my speed, my footing did not waver and I was able to complete the run without worry. The reasonable price is also attractive. It will be a good companion for my daily jogging.
