Easy to wear and irresistible Gurkha. Danner and Means Weil collaborate for the second time this season.

Most recently we released dud mountain low-cut boots, and now we have Gurkha sandals for the coming season.

Danner Pittock Gurukha ¥44,000

The shoes are based on the "Pittock Gurukha" series of leather sandals by Danner. The shoes are named after the Pittock House, a historical building built in the early 20th century in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A., and have been popular for a long time.

While maintaining the woven design of the Gurkha sandal, the zigzag webbing tape structure seen in the Means Weil anorak jacket has been incorporated into the upper. Despite its massive feel, the fit can be adjusted with a single action, just like the jacket.

As for the material, the upper is made of cowhide leather with a unique texture, and the lining is made of highly absorbent and abrasion-resistant pigskin. The leather is so soft around the foot that it is hard to believe that it is all leather, and it is also a pleasure to be able to wear them casually with bare feet.

The attention to detail goes even beyond the visible. The outsole is made with a lightweight, highly cushioned Vibram sole, and a dedicated insole cushion is also provided under the footbed to prevent fatigue even when worn for long periods of time.

This collaboration shows how well Danner and Means Weil understand each other and utilize each other's strengths. This is exactly what old acquaintanceship can do.
