We live in an age where we can buy almost anything on the Internet. That's why we can't help but be attracted to things that can only be bought in those places. ...... The "CITY WALK PROJECT" started by "ZOZOVILLA" focuses on hip cities and stores around the world and releases items that can only be found there. Items that could only be obtained by visiting the local area are now available at "ZOZOVILLA" for a special occasion only.

The city that will be the focus of the first edition is California. Under the title of "CALI WALK," items from eight local stores will be on sale. Among them, this time we will introduce items from "HVW8 Gallery" in Los Angeles.

HVW8 Gallery, the intersection of fashion, art and music.

Los Angeles is the trend-setting center of the U.S. West Coast. Recently, Downtown Los Angeles has been on the rise, Silver Lake continues to have an active independent movement, and the Santa Monica area along the ocean has formed a unique sense of values based on beach culture.

The West Hollywood district, located west of Hollywood, has long been a cultural hotspot in Los Angeles, where there are many attractive places to visit. Melrose Avenue, which runs east-west through the district, is lined with vintage clothing stores and trendy eateries, and Fairfax Avenue, which runs north-south, is lined with hype stores and trendy general stores.

HVW8 Gallery is located in such a town, and the name "HVW8" reads "heavyweight.

Established in 2006, the gallery has underpinned the Los Angeles art scene for nearly 20 years as a crossroads of art, music, and design. It has hosted performances by such luminaries as Little Sims, Snoop Dogg, and Kilo Kish, and has exhibited legendary West Coast artists such as Jeff McFetridge and Mark Gonzalez.

Whenever artists exhibit at the gallery, they usually release original items to commemorate the event. As you would expect from a famous gallery in Los Angeles, the designs of these items are all very cool.

In the "CITY WALK PROJECT" of "ZOZOVILLA", those items that were sold in the "HVW8 Gallery" in the past will be specially re-sold.

HVW8 Gallery x Artists' co-starring items.

Countless artists have exhibited at "HVW8 Gallery" and released special items each time. This time, "ZOZOVILLA" will carry a few selected items among them. Here are some of them.

HVW8 Gallery×Peoples Records ¥8,300

First of all, this towel. It was produced with Peoples Records, a Jamaican dancehall record label.

The illustrations were created by Wilfred Limonis, another Jamaican illustrator who has collaborated with Supreme and other well-known brands. He is also a well-known figure in the Jamaican music scene.

It is a waste to use them as towels. One way is to frame them and display them in your room.

HVW8 Gallery×Primos ¥10,400

Los Angeles has one of the largest Mexican immigrant populations in the United States. Latino communities have formed everywhere, and food and culture have taken root in the city. This T-shirt, with the word "PRIMOS!" on it, meaning "kinship," was created for a gallery exhibition celebrating such cross-cultural diversity.

By the way, here's what the exhibit looks like. Trumpet player Arturo Sandoval's performance is also super cool! Makes me want to go to Los Angeles.

HVW8 Gallery × Geoff McFetridge ¥10,400

Jeff McFetridge, a favorite of Japanese brands, has also frequently held solo exhibitions at "HVW8 Gallery. He and the owner of "HVW8 Gallery" are childhood friends, and the motif written here was designed by Jeff with "HVW8 Gallery" in mind. He says the boxers are hugging each other.

HVW8 Gallery × Sandy Kim 'Psychocandy' ¥4,300

Sandy Kim is a Korean-American photographer who has shot visuals for the LA Times as well as for Louis Vuitton and other fashion houses. This tote bag was created for her solo exhibition at HVW8 Gallery.

This psychedelic and cosmo design features the word "Psychocandy," which is also the name of the solo exhibition. On the back is printed Sandy's name and the date of the exhibition.

HVW8 Gallery × Mark Gonzales ¥10,400

Mark Gonzalez is a professional skateboarder and a pioneer in skateboard culture. This T-shirt was made to commemorate his exhibition "Ready To Articulate" held at "HVW8 Gallery" in 2022. The "HVW8 Gallery," where exhibitions of these living legends are held as a matter of course, is indeed a global standard.

The items introduced here are just a very small part of what has been released within the "CITY WALK PROJECT". More items produced by popular stores in California are still to come.

Our next focus will be on originals from Canyon Coffee, a local coffee shop in Los Angeles. The apparel and coffee goods are both yuletide and witty.
