Not Just Wooden Objects. Dai Miyadate, the creator of Cheerful Wednesday, will hold a solo exhibition of mainly three-dimensional works!

Dai Miyadate is the creator of CHEERFUL WEDNESDAY, a brand of apparel specializing in multi-border wear. In addition to his work as a designer, Miyadate also works extensively in the fields of woodwork and graphic design.

He will hold a solo exhibition of mainly three-dimensional works as part of his "CALM WARBLE DECOYS" project starting this weekend. The works are inspired by carved wooden decoys used in bird hunting to lure prey.

The works on display were created while living in Canada for a year away from Japan. The works are the output of what he thought about during that time.

For example, when pressed to make a decision on a matter, we are always narrowing our choices down to two." Yes" or "No" , or "white" or "black". The decoy's head and body are considered to be the two events, and the neck is meant to be the new choice that connects the two. The reason why only the neck is not colored is that it represents a new idea that we do not yet know, or a state of innocence.
