Mountain Research and Keen collaborate for the first time. The result is a hybrid hiking shoe that straddles the line between old and modern.

MOUNTAIN RESEARCH, a company with a family of shoe experts that has produced many masterpieces and monstrosities in the past, has announced its first collaboration with KEEN.

The base model is the "Pyrenees," Keen's classic hiking shoe that has been in production for 15 years. This mashup of the PYRENEES with the image of the authentic mountaineering shoes made by mountaineers that were part of Mountain Research's early lineup is the result of the mashup.

The upper is a classic mountain boot color scheme, but the sole is functional and modern. The hybrid design that straddles the line between the old and the modern is what makes us bow our knees in admiration of "Mountain Research.

This work is a pair of shoes that is a self-portrait, a pair that touches on the initial impulse and wisdom of "Mountain Research".

The suede upper, which is not part of the inline line, has a well balanced design that is unique to "Mountain Research," including Forstan with a brand message engraved on it, an engraving on the heel, and leather trim on the cuff and insole.
