There are artists who change their themes as they go along, and there are others who delve thoroughly into a single theme, and Watanabe is by far the latter.
The "movable window" or "window anywhere" is his research theme for the past few years.
It is interesting to note that even though the theme remains the same, the form of the output changes drastically.
As the name suggests, the new exhibition "TWO SPACES" will be held in two spaces and will feature about 50 new paintings.
By going back and forth between both places, you may be able to see things.

Setagaya Space Travel
From the solo exhibition "TWO SPACES
This is a journey of two universes in Setagaya.
The "universe" here is a little different from the "universe" above our heads.
It is more like the word "Space".
Route 420 from INHERIT GALLERY to OFO,
Passing through a fresh slope newly opened recently,
Turn left on Awashima-dori,
Go straight ahead and you will reach the other point.
41 minutes by foot, 15 minutes by bicycle, 13 minutes by LUUP, 13 minutes by car.
From one Space to the other using different means of transportation.
It is not a matter of being fast.
Even though they are the same road, each has its own advantages, and all were new discoveries for me.
Two remotely located Spaces,
The familiar landscape that stretched between them was somehow different from the usual.

Taichi Watanabe
Born in Tokyo in 1997. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a Master's degree in Fine Arts. Produced print works using silk screen and oil paintings. Currently focuses on oil paintings with "Windows Everywhere" as his research theme. Reinterpreting the window, which is closely related to our daily life, he creates a space just like an actual window and researches pictorial expressions that serve as an entrance to that space.
