In 1984, Columbia introduced the "Interchange System," which allows for easy temperature control.

It is already the 40th anniversary of the release of such a groundbreaking idea. In addition to the release of two modernized versions of items from that time, events will be held at StandBy and Columbia Harajuku in Harajuku for two days starting tomorrow.

First, we would like to introduce the "Bacaboo" jacket, which was the first jacket to adopt Columbia's "interchange system," but with a modern twist.

These are equipped with Columbia's unique Omni-Tech waterproof and breathable technology, making them ideal for outdoor activities and rainy days. The retro sporty look and roomy silhouette are very current. You can enjoy three-way dressing by using it as an outerwear, innerwear, or as a set.

Powderkeg™️II Remastered Interchange ¥37,400

Also new is the "Powder Keg" jacket, a modern update of the "Powder Keg" from the 1990s. This is also an "Interchange System" item equipped with Columbia's unique Omni-Tech waterproof and breathable function.

The reversible, voluminous puffer jacket with 100 g of padding has been updated with a boa fleece material on one side, which was previously a double-sided shell material. It has a large gusseted pocket and a security pocket, making it a convenient item for enjoying winter sports. It can be worn as an outerwear and innerwear stand-alone or as a set, 5-way, without getting tired of it.

Edenworks

At the event to be held from September 28 (Sat.) to 29 (Sun.), in addition to exhibits evoking the 40th anniversary history and the environment in which the "interchange system" is worn, the decoration by "edenworks" led by Emi Shinozaki will be a highlight. Original stickers will be distributed and a special movie that follows the period feel of the time will also be shown.
