Their beautiful ethnic costumes and simple lifestyle have fascinated many people, including photographer Sunao Tsuda, who has published a collection of photographs of the Sami.

~STORY~.
In the 1930s, the Sami, an indigenous people living in Lapland in northern Sweden , were discriminated against. Ere Marija, a young girl at a boarding school where the Sámi language is forbidden, gets good grades and wants to go on to higher education, but the teacher tells her, "Your brains are not adapted to civilization. One day , Ere sneaks into a summer festival pretending to be Swedish, meets an urban boy named Niklas, and falls in love with him. Ere wants to somehow escape from her life of reindeer herding and living in a tent, and she goes to the city with him in tow...
