The brand "Riprap," hosted by designer Hiroto Nishino, creates authentic suits based on solid tailoring and proposes items made of uniquely developed materials each season, and its greatest appeal is its clothes that have the power (with words) to describe the wearer better than anywhere else.
For the 17AW collection, under the title of "A MAN IN FINE WEATHER, STANDING ON THE EARTH", the brand proposes a modern work style. The collection includes coveralls, tailored jackets, and slacks made of waist point fabric, which is a blend of cotton, hemp, and wool, as well as balcolor duffle coats made of indigo-dyed Harris tweed, dress shirts made of thick uniform cloth, which is usually used for work slacks, and a collection of fabrics made by ceramic artist Akira Tsuzuki. The collection also includes a dress shirt made of thick uniform cloth, which is usually used for work slacks, a denim work shirt with ceramic buttons specially ordered by ceramist Akira Tsuzuki, and a knit item made of a four-layer quilt inspired by freezer work wear. The collection is the embodiment of "what Nishino wants to make now".
Clothing conveys what words cannot express, and becomes the voice of the wearer. The 2017 AW collection by "Riprap," which is filled with the thoughts of its creators, will be available for delivery starting in September.
