The model is a prototype, presumably made in the early 90s as the next model after the "M576" and produced as a prototype of the "574". . It belongs to the 500s, a lineage of off-road running shoes.

The lining follows the "M576" and is slightly wider to allow for smooth entry. The "N" mark is a slightly smaller design with a three-dimensional feel, which has been seen in many shoes since the 1990s. Contrast stitching and other features include a change in the color of the suede and stitching.
Investigation also revealed that although the sole unit is based on the stability-oriented SL-2 last (shoe type) used in the early "M576," the upper may be based on the slim SL-1 last. The shoe was a challenge to manufacture the sole and the upper based on different wood patterns.
Furthermore, the sample numbers of the prototypes used as reissue references are printed on the lining, showing the attention to detail.
